Henry's Farm Update, 3-30-20
Hi Folks,
Henry here with your weekly farm update.
I got a fort. Aunt Kate and Uncle BJ went on an adventure and retrieved the structure to be assembled in our yard. When it arrived I was pretty confused; Mom got me up from a nap and there were planks and sturdy supports scattered in front of the house. After surveying the materials with Grammy I decided that this new addition to the front lawn was a good upgrade. The cat could sit under peaked pieces, the dog enjoyed running through the maze of paths between each pile, and I could climb over some of the boards and under others. The playing commenced.
Uncle BJ is very smart. He decided a better idea was to stick all of the boards together so they stood up in the air. He used a noisy drill, a hammer, and the whole family to assemble a masterpiece. As soon as I saw the teamwork I knew I could help.
Armed with Scotty Screwdriver and a double portion of toddler enthusiasm I dove in to the action and made sure all the screws were tight. We had to take shelter from cloudbursts on several occasions and I used the reprieve to envision a glorious future atop my high platform, gazing out over the cattle.
Oh, yes, this will be a good summer. Calving season starts in May and I’ll be ready. I wonder if Dad will remember to help me down the slide before he goes out to tag a newborn??
Have a great week, everyone. See you at the farm!
