Here we are again: it’s Saturday, and that means I’m bringing the farm to your city in the form of hand-raised, authentic, top-of-the-line, extraordinary BEEF! Find me with coolers full of cuts at 2216 Penn Avenue beside the extraordinary Bar Marco from 9am – noon. Gruber Farms will be there too, adding diversity to your menu options.
It may seem an insignificant act to bundle up, walk down the street, and stand under a tent picking through frozen beef as a method to stock your freezer. I submit that such shopping is more real and, thus, a better and more wholesome method to feed yourself. Extravagance is eliminated in favor of authenticity; we spend our time and money raising the cattle, not putting on a show.
Buying directly from the farm versus purchasing through a retailer is the difference between visiting the Rocky Mountains and a postcard from the same location. You can meet the farmer yourself, or allow someone to tell you about the farm, and then hope they’re honest.
