IT’S FARM DOG FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, did I miss typing that.  I miss the Dachshund, too.  We’ll never replace him, of course.  Annie’s Farm Dog Friday will be a continuation of Oscar’s legacy, not a substitute.  I think we’re all on the same page there.

Annie the Border Collie is in training camp.  We’re drilling through the basics: Come, stay, sit, lie down.  She’s learning about all the characters around here: grassfed cattle, grainfed herd, barn cats, etc.  The young dog travels with me all over the place and downloads every scrap of information.  I’m amazed how quickly she catches on (pretty sure she listens better than Henry…).

All the learning is exhausting.  The pup sleeps soundly in the farm truck each time she sees an opportunity.  She is especially fond of the heated floor in the Beef Barn, which provides the perfect combination of comfort and action when customers come in.

I’m excited to watch her personality round out as this becomes ‘her’ farm.  Stay tuned, friends: this is going to be a wild ride.  After nap time, of course.
