Henry's Farm Update

Hi folks!

Henry here with your weekly farm update.

Boy is it BUSY around here!  Mom and Dad and Grammy and Grandpa are all spending evenings hashing out our schedule for this summer.  Between barn dinners, farm tours, our fledgling wedding venue, and open mic nights, it seems like every day is booked solid during the warm months.  Planning is hard on everyone.  I prefer to opt out of the discussions.  Instead, I load spaghetti noodles into my tractor bucket and dump them under Grammy’s favorite chair.  I’m pretty sure Dad would rather do that, too.

That’s why it’s important to love what you do; sometimes the best ‘breaks’ a person can take come in the form of routine tasks.  Instead of running away from chore work, we embrace it because it’s a chance to be productively relaxed.  The baby calves need fed twice daily, so that’s a time Grandpa and I use to forget about what’s happening in June and focus on scooping feed together.  Scooping feed on a Monday, friends, is much better than worrying about a Saturday six months from now.  Remember that.

As I grow up, I’ll be more and more involved around here.  It’s a pretty cool place to live because we never have to wonder what we’re going to do with our time.  This community is what carries us onward and makes Clarion a great place to live.  Because of you, we can enjoy today and anticipate tomorrow.  Thanks.

What chores do you do as a family?

Regards,

Henry Port
